Devon residents who have been feeling the cold this winter are being urged to apply for free central heating system

Government grant money is available for a limited time to help eligible Devon households to install new gas central heating system.

NEA 3270The CosyDevon Central Heating Fund is supported by the local authorities, and managed by their scheme partners E.ON, AgilityEco, National Energy Action (NEA) and Integrated Energy Services. It offers eligible residents a new connection to the gas grid, complete gas central heating system including new energy efficient boiler, radiators in every room and room thermostats.

People coping with living in a cold home because they have no central heating system andcan’t afford their heating costs all could benefit from the fund (subject to eligibility). They also get advice on choosing a gas supplier and support to use the new system.

Ciaran Cronnelly, Project Development Co-ordinator from fuel poverty charity National Energy Action explained: “The scheme is now in full swing and we have already completed quite a few NEA 220115installations for applicants.  We are getting fantastic feedback from those whose installations are already complete; their lives have been transformed by having a warm, dry comfortable home without the worry of huge heating bills looming over them.  But the fund is limited, so we would urge anyone who thinks they might be eligible to get in touch and find out on a confidential basis.
