Cashierless shopping has become one of the hottest trends in customer experience in the last 12 months, with numerous industry experts hailing it as the future of retail. Now, London-based tech company MishiPay are partnering with Nedap Retail to give visitors to the Retail Business Technology Expo the opportunity to experience the technology for themselves.
The innovative solution is the technology behind Europe's first cashierless electronics store, Saturn Express. Since the pilot store opened its doors in Austria in March 2018, the performance of the solution has exceeded expectations in terms of conversion, repeat custom, volume of transactions and uplift in footfall.
At Saturn Express, shoppers can pick up a product they wish to buy, scan the barcode with their smartphone, pay with a tap on the phone and just walk out with their item. It is a highly intuitive customer experience, with the whole process taking just 15 seconds. In case of theft, the patent-pending tech instantly catches that and sounds the alarm.
The collaboration brings together MishiPay's award-winning app, Avery Dennison's label printing expertise and Nedap Retail's RFID security technology to create a single solution that can be integrated into the existing infrastructure of almost any retailer, quickly, seamlessly and cost-effectively. It enables even small, independent retailers to create an industry-leading customer experience.
The Retail Business Technology Expo (RBTE) is one of the world's leading events for the retail and hospitality industry, bringing together senior decision makers from top retail brands to understand the latest innovation and emerging technologies. This year's event takes place at Olympia, London on 2-3 May 2018, where more than 400 exhibitors will welcome thousands of delegates from around the world.
Visitors to the RBTE can experience the Scan, Pay, Leave technology for themselves at Stand D105, where they can full demonstration from the MishiPay and Nedap teams.
