Nottingham College has established a new Green Skills Centre at its Basford campus, offering a range of green and sustainable training programmes designed to position Nottingham and the broader East Midlands region at the forefront of the decarbonisation and green skills agenda.
Supported by funding from the Local Skills Improvement Fund, the college has developed an innovative provision at the Green Skills Centre, tailored to meet local demands and align with emerging technologies.
In this region, priority areas include green productivity, the transition to Net Zero, advanced digital skills in AI and smart technologies, as well as essential transferable competencies, vital for progression in the modern workplace.
The current offer at the Green Skills Centre includes qualifications in heat pump systems, solar photovoltaic technologies, climate change, waste management, and employability skills within green industries and much more.
